This is LBD's largest project to date.
We love our work and truly treasure the reputation and support we have built as an independent bottler over the years. We will continue to do single cask bottlings, but beyond the challenge of finding great casks, the more realistic problem is that the quantity is rarely enough to go around. A single cask yields a very limited number of bottles, meaning some people might never get the chance to taste the fruits of our years of dedication. Therefore, we want to take it a step further and challenge ourselves to create something on a larger, reproducible scale that remains special and, most importantly, delicious.
This is our new project called "Aberdeenshire Single Malt", the core range of LBD: a 12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky distilled at Glen Garioch (a distillery just ten minutes away from us). Interpreted by us, with cask management, blending, and all decisions made entirely by ourselves, building layers of complexity and balance to establish a flavor profile that says, 'Yes, this is our style.'
When, after years of aging, the quality of our spirit was finally ready, we realized that areas like logistics planning, packaging materials, and new product packaging design hadn't kept pace with our whisky blending expertise. So, we decided to first release 500 bottles as a 'Pre-production Preview'. Well, that name sounds a bit better than 'Special Edition Because the Bottles Aren't Ready Yet'.
The label design is literally a sketch torn straight out of a notebook. We actually do have a notebook that records all of the company's designs and ideas since we started seven years ago. And just like everything else we do, you aren't paying for a fancy box, design fees, or a decorative display piece—you are simply buying great whisky.

Nose: Refreshing herbal tea with a cooling sensation, salted plum-filled candy, sarsaparilla candy, honey-pickled starfruit, and moist candied fruit.
Palate: Sweeter and fresher than the nose suggests, European pear, stevia, dried peach, mint, honey, fruit gummies, silky cream, and herbal essential oil.
Finish: Lingering sweetness of pear, herbs, and pepper.
