About Great Northern Distillery
Great Northern Distillery was established by John Teeling, the founder of the former Cooley Distillery and the father of the founder of Teeling Distillery.
During his time at Cooley, John Teeling sold a lot of young whisky to other distilleries or brands, which resulted in not having enough stock to mature, thus losing the foundation for establishing a brand. In 2011, Beam Inc. acquired Cooley Distillery, and John Teeling purchased Great Northern Brewery from Diageo and converted it into a whiskey distillery. Distillation began on July 31, 2015, and it was officially renamed Great Northern Distillery. Great Northern is now the second-largest distillery in Ireland in terms of production.
Great Northern currently produces approximately 16 million liters of whiskey. It has Pot Stills and Column Stills, which can produce various types of whiskey such as grain whiskey, double-distilled malt whiskey, triple-distilled malt whiskey, peat malt whiskey, and pot-distilled whiskey. These are provided to local whiskey brands and small distilleries for use.

Nose：Soft and fresh mango, tangerine, pineapple and the sweetness from melon. Then floral scent, honey, nuts, dryness and vanilla.
Palate：Well rounded sweetness from tropical fruit, green apple, butter, butter chocolate, nuts, vanilla, fresh wood and spices.
Finish：Medium finish. Sweet tangerine, banana, green apple, malt, dryness, vanilla and spices.
On the nose one can smell the sweetness of fresh fruit, yellow honey and vanilla. On the palate, one can taste the sourness from tropical fruit and the rounded softness of butter. In the finish, some dryness, vanilla and spices come through. Overall performance is beyond its age, sweet finish is rather pleasant.
