From LBD:"More very special calvados, fully white port matured, pays d’auge so it’s double pot distilled rather than column distilled and it’s just wonderful liquid. The pot distillation creates a richer, heavier distillate that preserves more apple oomph, that’s almost certainly the correct technical term.Distilled at the idyllic Christian Drouin distillery in Normandy, please go and visit if you get the chance, it is how we imagine a Disney distillery would look."
"Another labour of love to bring this cask home to Scotland, it is not an inexpensive or stress free experience but we think it is worth it. Good age to this, very interesting wood type and a more approachable abv although we have not added any water to it. Another calvados unicorn and one which we are very excited about sharing with you. We’ll convert you all one day.
Label is the wing of a Hawker Typhoon with D-day invasion stripes. LBD owes a lot of its existence to Chris’s annual visits to Normandy and we’re both abnormally well read on the subject so it seems appropriate to make a wee nod to this."
