Ryu Nishikata ｜ Musician / Visual Artist
Once active in the music scene as bronbaba, the artist now, as DRUGONDRAGON, continues diverse projects such as solo creations, remixes, and cross-genre collaborations.
Drawing inspiration from noise, glitch aesthetics, and electronic music, he constructs a distinctive sonic world through deliberately crafted 'loose' progressions and seemingly impromptu treatments. In his remix works, he excels at deconstructing and reassembling original tracks, injecting a layer of 'deliberate misinterpretation' to transform them into entirely different forms.
In addition to music, Nishikata personally creates all the visual art for his released works. Projects such as "bronbaba / wwww" and "DRUGONDRAGON / dokka no dareka dareka no nanika" have been published as photo books, exploring the theme of 'reality akin to fiction.' Starting in 2025, he will incorporate AI into his creative process, shifting to explore 'fiction akin to reality,' and continuously investigate the unique landscape where visuals and sound intertwine.

【Introduction of Distillery】
Smögen, an authentic peated whisky distillery located on Sweden's west coast, was founded by Pär Caldenby in 2009. Although an official bottling (OB), it embodies the spirit of independent bottling (IB), focusing on small batches and experimental single casks. Its whiskies frequently receive high praise from international critics like Whiskyfun and are hailed as "connoisseur's favorites." The distillery's annual production is extremely small (only about 60-75 casks of new make spirit), and only just over ten casks are released annually, making them quite rare. The production process involves a long fermentation period of 6-7 days, uses small stills (900L/600L), and a worm tub condenser which has been in use since 2018.
What's astonishing is that Pär is not only a practicing lawyer, but Smögen is also a one-man distillery where he single-handedly manages everything from distillery design to fermentation, distillation, barreling, and cask selection. He is truly a legendary figure.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: Smoky herbs, woody fragrance, a very, very subtle hint of Seirogan, minerals, seaweed, plum, herbal honey, peach.
Palate: A blend of herbal smoky peat, passion fruit, honey lemon, moderate woodiness, charcoal, thyme, and clove.
Finish: Chalk, smoky, sweet peas, herbaceous stems.
