Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense ripe banana, citrus, preserved plum, salted caramel, toffee, coffee, some honey flavored black tea, sweet mint and spices.
Palate: mouth watering ripe bananas, citrus, dried fruits, apples, coffee, cream, nuts, woods, sweet mints and spices.
Finish: medium to long citrus, bananas, dried fruits, honey, brown sugar, coffee, wood tannin dryness, cardamom, hay, sweet mints and spices, with long last honey sweetness in the mouth.
Comment: Although the esters paly the key role in this dram, the aroma of ripe bananas doesn’t stand out too strong but blends with the other flavors bringing a balanced fruit sweetness. Give it some time to open up and you can smell the aroma of Taiwanese honey flavored black tea. The mouth is full of oily esters yet the taste is balanced. Overall it is very smooth. Honey and brown sugar sweetness and fragrance stay softly in the mouth for the finish.
