About Artist: 任嶼Ray.H
任嶼Ray.H is an illustrator who excels at transforming beautiful moments in daily life and travel into lively pictorial illustrations. He has collaborated with various tourism and local culture organizations multiple times. Skilled in diverse illustration techniques, he captures everyday life and travel street scenes, bringing a fresh and intimate sense of life.

The “Travel Picture” series, which has won the Merit award in the 3x3 International Illustration Awards, focuses on everyday street scenes during travel. It vividly depicts the local charm of each city and town, telling moving and unique little stories.

【Introduction of Distillery】

Girvan 酒廠隸屬於 William Grant & Sons,建立於 1963年,當時由 William Grant 的曾孫 Charles Grant Gordon 的指導下,九個月內建造完成並成為最大的穀物威士忌酒廠,第一批烈酒在聖誕節當天裝瓶。同年裝置的第一座 Coffey Still (考菲式蒸餾器)使用至 2016年長達 53年的歲月後退役。

Girvan 酒廠使用的穀物比例為 10% 的麥芽和 90% 的小麥,目前運作中的蒸餾器是 No. 4 Apps 和 No. 5 Apps,是 1992年推出的新型態蒸餾器,採用多壓式系統 (Multi-Pressure System, MPS)。這種 MPS 技術特別是可以在真空或低溫下進行蒸餾,產出一種果味更濃更甜、更純淨和不含硫化合物的烈酒酒體。

這款在 1996年蒸餾的 Girvan 從香氣就能清晰感受到果香甜味和些許玉米片的香氣,口感乾淨易飲的調性中帶點蜂蜜、咖啡與辛香料感,絲毫感受不到其高酒精濃度的刺激感。

 

Tasting Notes

Nose: sweet tangerine, candied fruit, corn flake, salted butter, chocolate, coffee, nuts, cloves and nutmeg.

Palate: Smooth on the taste. Umami, tangerine, plum, some hints of cherry, coffee, nuts, nutmeg and spices.

Finish: short finish. Sweet tangerine, banana, butter, caramel, honey, nuts, cinnamon and spices.

One can smell the scent of corn flake, tangerine, plum, salted butter, coffee and nuts. One can taste how smooth the liquid is with hints of cherry and the sweetness of banana, typical taste of a single grain that's of medium to high age.
