|Brand story and vision

Florent Beuchet met plenty of business insiders when he was a rum ambassador in New York. After returning to Europe, he found that the rum available in the French market just isn’t authentic. It usually contains plenty of food colouring, sugar and other artificial ingredients. Therefore, he founded Compagnie des Indes Rums in the French city Burgundy in 2014. The purpose is to bring authentic and real rum to the market. Just like wine from Burgundy, rum from different “terroir” also has completely different flavour profiles.

|Cask selection

“Select spirits that are balanced“, this is what the founder learned when tasting wine, as balanced spirits bring good drinking experience. He usually selects liquid that is full-bodied with a long finish.

|Brand feature

Compagnie des Indes is a brand that values transparency, it always tells customers what is inside its bottles. The brand provides many different types of rum, single cask or blend. It is also the first independent bottling brand to release so many rum bottlings from the new world, including Indonesia, Florida, Australia, Brazil, Ecuador, Ghana and Vietnam.

|Label Design

The brand usually uses old paintings from the 1800 on its labels, bringing culture and history to each rum bottling.
