What an age we live in
A few years ago, we used Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bunnahabhain, BenRiach whiskies and made whisky gelato, it started a trend.
Thereafter, we prefer to focus solely on whisky itself.
As an independent bottling company, we have a wide range of casks available in stock. We as a team, including the founder Rex Weng, select and purchase casks for the company’s own bottling, as well as providing a fully customised service for businesses and individuals that wish to purchase their own casks. In addition, we are also the exclusive distributor of several niche independent bottling brands from Europe.
Each cask is carefully selected by our team. The casks are regularly regauged to ensure maturation is achieved at its best. By the end of 2022, we have hundreds of casks in Scotland and Ireland and continue to grow our cask portfolio. All of our stock is currently waiting for that moment where the liquid is perfectly balanced so it can be bottled.
We continue to search and purchase more casks with high standards in order to enrich our stock availability, not just for now, but for the future. We envisage to create a brand that is loved and enjoyed by many generations to come.

獨立裝瓶商
曾被初初接觸威士忌的朋友問及，為什麼在 Springbank 的官網上，找不到你推薦的這支 2003年蒸餾的酒款？也曾被問及，為什麼酒標上除了寫著 Ben Nevis 酒廠名稱之外，還標有 The Whisky Blues 或 WHISKY AGE 字樣呢？
隨著此類問題的詢問次數增加，讓我們意識到應該先來簡單說明什麼是 OB，又什麼是 IB。
早期蒸餾廠所生產之威士忌，絕大部分都賣給酒商作為調和威士忌使用，少量以桶為單位出售至雜貨商／零售商，消費者再自行攜帶容器至店家購買，猶如我們小時候至雜貨店打酒、打醬油的模式。直至 20世紀初期，才出現裝瓶廠 Gordon & Macphail 為幾家蒸餾廠以酒廠名稱推出裝瓶的威士忌，可說是 IB 的前身。至於蒸餾廠自行裝瓶銷售單一麥芽威士忌（OB），則已經是 1963年的事了。

指的是從威士忌的蒸餾開始，入桶熟成、裝瓶至最終的販售，全部由威士忌蒸餾廠一手包辦。通常交由首席釀酒師帶領團隊為品質把關，確保品牌威士忌能忠實呈現酒廠風格、讓風味保持一致，以維持原廠建立的品牌形象。
剛開始喝威士忌時，接觸到的酒款泰半以原廠裝瓶居多。正因為原廠裝瓶威士忌風味的一貫性，能幫助初學者快速了解各個酒廠想要呈現的風格特色；如果遇上喜歡的酒款，也不必擔心喝完了該怎麼辦的問題，隨時都能再買回來溫習回味（當然一些特殊限量酒款除外）。從 OB 入門是相當不錯的選擇。
★ 這裡以威士忌為例作說明，其他烈酒，譬如蘭姆酒、干邑、雅馬邑……也是類似的情況。
｜Independent Bottling 獨立裝瓶（廠／品牌／商）｜
獨立裝瓶廠既沒有自己的蒸餾廠也不自行生產威士忌，是直接或者透過中間商向酒廠購買整桶的威士忌原酒，存放於自家庫房、合租型庫房或者選擇留在原酒廠內做熟成，直至適當的陳放年份再以自有品牌裝瓶上市。而且多以單一桶（Single Cask）或僅調和少數幾桶、原桶強度（Cask Strength）來裝瓶，採非冷凝過濾（Non Chill-Filtered）也不加焦糖調色（Caramel Colouring）。如此一來，更能展現單一桶的獨特魅力，也保留了威士忌更多元的豐富香氣和滋味。
Cadenhead’s、Gordon & MacPhail、Scotch Malt Whisky Society、Signatory……是幾個相當知名的獨立裝瓶廠。
我們的自有品牌（The Whisky Blues、WHISKY AGE）以及進口的代理品牌們，幾乎都是屬於 IB（只有 Smögen 是 OB），只不過大部分沒有自己的裝瓶設備，而是購入符合心目中標準、自己也喜歡的威士忌後，委託獨立裝瓶廠代為裝瓶，再以自己的品牌上市販售。酒標上標示的是自有品牌和蒸餾廠名稱，而沒有獨立裝瓶廠的資訊。這些代理品牌們比較偏向於選桶的角色，因此我們稱之為「獨立裝瓶品牌」或「獨立裝瓶商」。

｜為什麼選擇獨立裝瓶（IB）威士忌、蘭姆酒、干邑、雅馬邑……？｜
1. 有別於 OB 風格的一貫性，IB 更有單一桶的個性和魅力；有時還會進行二次熟成，創造出與官方裝瓶截然不同的風味。有機會在基本路線上迸出令人驚喜的迷人火花。
2. 有機會喝到已經關廠的烈酒酒款；以威士忌為例，譬如 Port Ellen（2025年已經復廠，值得引頸期待）、Brora、Rosebank、Millburn 以及許久之前在朋友家喝了幾款深深愛上的 Littlemill……等等。
3. 有機會喝到 OB 也沒推出的高年份酒款，也成為大家在 IB 世界裡尋寶的要因之一。當然有些 OB 也會裝高年份酒來販售，只可惜價格往往驚人得高，讓人無法輕易入手；不過如果把視野轉向 IB，便會發現同樣酒廠相同或相近的高年份酒，通常會比原廠推出的價格低上不少，對於想了解高年份酒的消費者而言，將是非常好的選擇。
