I started with a goldfish\u2014just a goldfish\u2014and thought, \u2018This\u2019ll be fun, something light.\u2019 Fast forward a few hours, and suddenly we\u2019re in space. I have no idea how it happened, but there she was: floating through the cosmos like she owns the place, carrying the weight of a thousand unspoken truths. Is she dreaming of us, or are we dreaming of her? I\u2019ll probably never know. But one thing\u2019s for sure\u2014she\u2019s the kind of muse who leaves you with more questions than answers.<\/p>\n

About Artist\uff1aSteve McDonald<\/p>\n

Steve Mcdonald is a widely recognized Canadian illustrator. His work has taken many forms over the years but he is best known for his highly detailed line drawings and fantastical illustrations of both architecture and landscapes. He is an international best-selling author and illustrator with his coloring book series from Chronicle Books. Recently he produced four new sketch books with Field Notes as their spring 2023 editions. A few past notable clients include Architectural Digest, Blueman Group, Amazon Prime, Entertainment Weekly, and The Atlantic.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To classify Steve's work one should look at his influences: Moebius, Terry Gilliam, Luc Besson, Imperial Boy, Hayao Miyazaki, Roger Dean, Noriyoshi Ohrai, Looney Tunes, and then painters like the Canadian Group of Seven, N.C. Wyeth, Norman Rockwell, and Frank Frazetta. His new work could be best described as 'escapist fantastical realism'. Steve believes almost all approaches and tools are legitimate as long as the work you are producing is striving to be singular and unique. He also believes in having fun and hopefully making you smile!\u00a0\nSteve was educated at The Ontario College of Art and Design. He was born in Toronto, Canada and has lived in India, Indonesia, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Canada. He has two grown daughters and a wonderful partner and presently lives in rural Ontario.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\nNose: sweet and rounded apples, apricots, plums, slight melon, dried pineapple, and white raisins. The mid-palate reveals honey syrup, malt, butter, nuts, and vanilla, while the finish brings out wood, hay, mint, and spices.<\/p>\n

Palate: medium-bodied and sweet. Citrus, melon, berries, apricots, malt, honey syrup, butter, vanilla, wood, mint, and spices.<\/p>\n

Finish: medium to long. Citrus, apricots, melon, dried fruits, malt, butter chocolate, nuts, woody tannins, mint, and spices.<\/p>\n

A balanced and sweet whisky with bright apple, apricot, and slight melon notes that carry through from aroma to palate. The layers of flavor develop over time, adding complexity to both aroma and taste, leaving a sweet melon finish.<\/p>\n
