It still retains the traditional craft of floor malting and uses it to supply a portion of the malt for the distillery. The local peat is used to dry the malt for 18 hours, producing a peated malt with 10-25 ppm, which adds a charming hint of peaty smoke to Bowmore's signature tropical fruit notes.<\/p>\n Most Bowmore whiskies are aged in bourbon casks, with only about 20% matured in sherry casks. This 26-year-old Bowmore, matured in sherry casks, releases an aroma of sweet smoke, salinity, berries, and citrus. Its round, sweet, and smoky palate is accented by subtle peat notes. The long finish features traces of ash and a unique, slight soapy character, offering a rich and complex profile worth savoring.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Tasting Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n Nose: full-bodied smoky fruity scent including berry, raisin, slight saltedness, tangerine, dark chocolate, toffee, nuts, woodiness, cinnamon, scent of burnt tobacco and spices.<\/p>\n Taste: medium bodied, slightly peated, tangerine, dried fruit, berry, toffee, dark chocolate, nuts, walnut, woodiness, cardamon, smell from tea, soap and spices.<\/p>\n Finish: Medium to long. Smoky fruit aroma, citrus, raisins, grapes, berries, toffee, dark chocolate, nuts, walnuts, wood, minerals, ash, and spices.<\/p>\n This is a whisky that people really enjoy for its layered presentation. The smoky aroma blends with berries, dark chocolate, and nuts.
